Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What's a giclée print?
A: Giclée is the use of the ink-jet printing process for making fine art large digital images on paper or canvas. The term comes from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt, to spray." The term, sometimes anglicized as giclée, is used to describe high-resolution, large-format ink-jet printer output with fade-resistant pigment-based inks on high quality acid free paper.

Q: How do I care for a giclée print?
A:
Ink jet giclées are printed with water soluble inks. Like watercolors and pastels on paper, they must be protected from dampness and ultraviolet light. At the minimum, giclée prints should be framed under glass. We strongly recommend the use of UV shielding acrylic sheet glazing specially made for framing high quality artworks. Never display your prints where they will be exposed to direct sunlight or strong fluorescent lighting. Talk to your local framing specialist for the best advice on how to obtain the best protection for your prints.

Q: How much does it cost to get a custom made copy of one of your paintings I saw on a book cover or in a book, magazine, card, calendar, puzzle, etc.
A: There is a flat fee for a full size, signed one-off print. Fees start at $250.00 for smaller prints. Custom sizes are also available. Please write for a quote.

Q: How long does it take to make a custom print?
A: Average time is two weeks or less, plus transit time in shipping.

Q: How can I pay for prints?
A: We accept Visa and Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards. You can also pay by Money Order, Certified Check, and Cashiers Check. Custom prints are non-returnable.
